Memories of Late Summer Days

“September Sun” brings childhood memories of hot afternoons in Ohio and my grandparents country farm. Time has clouded some of my memories and imagination has colored in the fuzzy parts.

Here I see barns and silos ready to be filled with the corn harvest. Heat burns the walls of the structures and the sun casts long, hot shadows. On the fringe of the field, ugly weeds are sprouting.

Here I see barns and silos filled with corn. Wilted scraps of the harvest lay in the fields and the sun casts long hot shadows. Among the trampled harvest leavings, there sprouts ugly weeds.
