Yellow Sky Series
"Yellow Sky Series" (YSS) is a series of works that explore a passage through grief. Ten paintings examine the dynamic process of change, taking the viewer on a journey searching for safe boundries.
Employing a collection of symbols, the artist uses stylized images rendered in dreamlike reality to explore feelings of loss and loneliness. These works define the struggle to adapt to a new and frightening emotional environment. As the series progresses, we encompass a range of emotions from anxiety, pain, fear, a refocusing and then, acceptance.
Using an expanse of illusionary space, and her palette, which is both exciting and muted, the artist succeeds in making this troubling subject matter captivating to view.
