What's New?

It’s February already! Everyone says it, but really, where did the time go? I’d say I’m still catching up from all the Holiday activities, but that excuse would sound lame, so I’ll make no excuse and just let it go.
Nothing new about that.
I’m putting the final touches on my third Design Adaptation. It’s looking pretty good! You’ll see it here when it’s done and photographed. I do have another piece in mind for the series after this one…we’ll see. How I wish I could work so much faster and see these wonderful ideas I have in my head instantly appear as finished on my canvas!
Well, nothing new about that.
Also, I’m working on a new piece that I’m painting in, Oh! My! God!, ...... can you believe it? Acrylic! I haven’t painted a serious painting in acrylic in decades. And, I’ve got to say, acrylic is just not my thing. While the work is looking good, I just don’t love doing it, you know? I love the way acrylic dries so quickly that I can work on another passage soon after I’ve completed the neighboring area. At the same time, I hate the way it dries so quickly I have a difficult time blending the smooth passages I love to paint. It’s my Pisces nature – two fish swimming is opposite directions - each pulling against the effort of the other. Oh, the angst!
Well, nothing new about that.
